Tours to earn your Discover Detroit Patch and your Urban Explorers

Join us for an immersive journey through Detroit,
the largest city within the council boundaries! This engaging walking
tour will take you through downtown, stopping at eight fascinating
locations, including historic sites, unique businesses, and other
points of interest. Along the way, our expert Detroit Food & City
Tours guides will share captivating stories and insights, bringing
each stop to life. Participants will also put their navigation skills
to the test as they explore these diverse destinations. Don't miss
this opportunity to experience the best of Detroit's history, culture,
and vibrant city life!
Sites will include:
1.) The Spirit of Detroit Monument - Scouts will have
the unique opportunity to reenact the founding of Detroit at this
iconic landmark.
2.) The Renaissance Center & Detroit
Riverfront - Discover Detroit's pivotal role as the final stop on the
Underground Railroad while taking in stunning riverfront views.
3.) Campus Martius Park - Visit the heart of downtown, home to
the famous fountain and Detroit's "point of origin," where
all mile roads begin.
4.) Capitol Park - Uncover
Michigan's path to statehood and the influential figures who shaped
its history.
5.) The Top of the Z Garage - Take in
breathtaking panoramic views of the city and capture a memorable group
photo.
6.) Parker's Alley - Support local women-owned
businesses and indulge in a delicious chocolate treat from Bon Bon Bon
Chocolatiers.
7.) The Guardian Building - Marvel at this
architectural masterpiece while sampling iconic Detroit-born sodas and
chips.
8.) An Urban Oasis - Explore a thriving community
garden nestled in the heart of the city.

Costs:

$50.00 per tagalong (Register as girl non-member)
$35.00 per adult
PLEASE note that this is NOT a
drop-off event and proper Girl Scout to Adult safety ratios MUST be
met in order to participate in the event.
Please be prompt in picking up your Girl Scout
from events. If you are going to be late, you must contact your event
organizer to notify them of the late pickup. After 15 minutes, if no
one has called the event organizer, activity staff will call guardian
and if needed, emergency contact. Girl Scouts left after 1 hour past
the end of activity, without notification, will be released to the
authorities or child protective services.
